Alarm panel location vs. sensor location? #233
|
Hi, I am cleaning up my HA config, and am now making sure the areas are properly assigned. Do I need to create zones, or how do I assign the sensors to the correct areas? |

No need to create zones. Many places in Home Assistant where you see the entity, you can click on it to bring up a pop-up window with the entity details. Click on the gear in the upper right corner of the entity pop-up, to view/edit settings for the entity. You can always get to this through the main Settings page, and find Entities there. When you are in the entity settings pop-up, you have the choice to inherit the Area from the parent device, or overide it. In this case, you want to override the Area and set it for the entity. |
